this movie was insane. the direction, cinematography, and use of colors was on point. my only criticism was ellen page's acting was inconsistent. it would be amazing one moment, and not believable the next.

She never comes right out and says it, but seems to be right. Most of the reviews of this were so off the mark- they portrayed her as some sort of psycho teen stalker who had no reason to do this to him other than some sort of prior pedophilia inflicted upon her. Yeah, she was a tad psycho, but the rest was pretty straight forward. She turned the tables on the guy- somehow she found some proof that the other guy (Aaron) was talking to her friend right before she disappeared, and she tracked him down. Did the same thing to him, and got the other guys name- and got all the dirt she needed on him before springing the next trap. Believable? Not wholly. But still very good.

What was amazing about the movie was how ambiguous it was about his true intentions- his protestations about 'not doing anything to her' are only partially right- he doesn't stop her from drinking, he doesn't stop her from coming to his home alone, he doesn't dissuade her from the sexual comments... basically he's letter her come on to him...and she's 14 years old. It's only when she finds the pictures that you understand that this is not some innocent guy who has made a big mistake. And the final scene seals the deal.

Amazing movie really.
