I'm trying to make my mix sound.....BIGGER!! i'm using the Waves Diamond L2 but I still feel there is something missing. Also, what kind of effect can I place on my "sample" to give it a fuller effect?

for a thick sound...mute the bass, snare and kick...and bounce the track to disk...import that track on it's own track..turn the cut to the left and the Res to the right to cut out the highs, then mix down.

thaaaat's riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

with the instruments..maybe your keyboard has a 'chorus' effect. it'll fill out the instrument for the most part. dont' over do it though...put it on your main instruments...no homo.

you can always just add some reverb and eq the lows a little bit higher and that might make it fuller.. well thats just the real simple way.. smurfs way is more complicated but it might work better..
also just adding a thick bassline to the ebat fills out the ebat nicely to..

also you could eq one version (of your samples) high and one low and then mix 'em, in soundforge
or just get a real compressor

snot really my way though...that's what dre and pete rock do

and if anything..the reverb is gonna make the sound thinner..however a little bit makes your snare sit more in the mix.

and u don't wanna start equing your original sample...unless you're resampling it to soud more grimy...

u want a copy of your main sample to fuck with while the original one plays...

doing it this way gives your sample warmth and thickness. and u gotta have to keep the original sample's 'highs'...fuckin with this by itself...will make your sample sound muddy...not fuller. also pan this new track away from the center where the orig sample, your snare and your kick should be.
